Singlehanded Championship
The Thomas E. Curtis, Jr. Trophy was established in 1979 by members of the Curtis family. Tommy was an active participant in the sport of yacht racing from his early years sailing Turnabouts at the Crow Point Sailing Club to his last adventure working for Sparkman Stephens and sailing "Obsession" in the SORC Circuit. Sailing was his life and he was a sailor to the end. This series is open to all Juniors qualifying for the Sears Competition. It is a 'bring-your-own-boat series with the two top competitors qualifying for the Area A competition and the E. Jared Bliss, Jr. Trophy.
